A staffing company in Illinois hired Timberline Tax Group to help protect the business from both the Internal Revenue Service and State of Illinois levy action. The Associate focused on a levy that was issued against the business by the State of Illinois which put a hold on $60,598.81 in the business bank account. The Associate began negotiations with the state representative to determine why the levy was issued and more importantly what was needed to remove the levy and resolve the account. The Associate negotiated a down payment, provide proof of financial hardship and discussed the overall financial condition of the business to aide with the levy release. With the financials provided, an Installment Agreement of $3,000/month was initiated with $10K from the levy being applied as a down payment. Once this was finalized, the state released $50,598.81 of the levied amount back to the taxpayer.
